At a meeting held in Durban on the 29 January 2003, the People's Coalition Against War in Iraq was formed in response to the global call for a sustained campaign to protest against the American war machine that is threatening war on Iraq. There are a series of events that have been planned to raise consciousness against this war. Most prominent amongst these is the Anti-war march planned for the 15 February 2003. The People's Coalition while Durban based, is affiliated to the national Anti-war Coalition, and will be joining in protest actions across the country on the 15th. However our resources are limited and virtually non-existent. We are appealing to the public at large, and the corporate sector to please contribute generously to this campaign, either through monetary donation or a sponsorship / service. Receipts will be provided on request. We are all aware what the consequences of war will be, if we as the peoples of the world, do not take action now. We ask you to come forward to be part of this campaign, and lend your support wherever you are able to. Our very humanity depends on it. Attached please find an appeal letter, which you are welcome to print, copy and distribute amongst your friends, relatives and colleagues.
